「（場所の中）を通り抜ける」
「（仕事など）を終える、済ます；（本）を読み終える」
「（金など）を全部使う；（飲食物）を平らげる」
「（試験）に合格する；（法案が)(議会など）を通過する」
「（時間・季節など）を何とか過ごす」
「（困難など）を切り抜ける、乗り越える」
などという意味があります。
